Terms of service

Plain words for using Jefield. By using it, you agree to these terms and to the privacy page.

1. Who we are

Jefield is made by Moc Mallen Studio ("we", "us"). These terms are between you and us. If you use Jefield for an organisation, you agree for it and confirm you may.

You must be at least 13 to use Jefield, or older where your law requires it to agree to these terms.

2. Your work is yours

You own what you bring into Jefield and what you make in it. Most of it never reaches us: it lives on your device. For what you choose to sync, we hold sealed copies only to give them back to your devices. We don't claim rights in your work and we never use it to train AI models.

3. Using it well

Use Jefield as the acceptable use policy says: in short, don't use it to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, harm people, spread malware, or attack the service or other people's data. On the community shelf, follow the code of conduct. We may remove content or suspend access that breaks these terms. Security research that keeps to the rules on the security page is welcome.

4. Publishing to the community shelf

When you publish a template, you give everyone a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to view it, use it to make their own work, and publish work made from it with credit kept as Jefield records it. You also give us the licence needed to host and show it. You can take it down any time; copies people already made stay theirs. Only publish what you have the right to share.

If you believe something on the shelf infringes your copyright, report it from the template or on the report page with what it is, where it is, and that you own it. We'll take it down and tell the publisher, who may respond.

5. AI

Jefield includes AI tools that run on your device, and will let you hand work to AI and agents. What AI makes can be wrong, and can resemble other people's work; check it before you rely on it or publish it. Every change made in Jefield is a new version you can go back from. AI providers you use have their own terms.

6. Accounts and keys

Looking around Jefield needs no account; making, keeping and editing things needs you signed in with Google. Keep your Google account secure; you're responsible for what happens under it. A library made on a device before sign-in was required keeps its key on that device until you sign in there: keep that device or an export safe, as nobody, including us, can recover a lost key. Keep an export of anything you can't lose.

Jefield is free today, and no paid plan is for sale. When a paid plan opens, its price, billing period, renewal, cancellation and refund terms will be shown before you pay, and will form part of these terms. What's free today won't be taken away from people using it.

8. Our stuff

The Jefield name, the J, the software and this website belong to us or our licensors. You may use them to use Jefield; please don't copy or redistribute the software, or use the brand in ways that suggest we endorse you, beyond what the brand page allows. Open-source parts come with their own licences, listed in licenses.txt.

9. Ending

You can stop using Jefield any time; export first. We may stop offering a feature or the service, and will give reasonable notice where we can, so you can export. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms or the law.

10. No promises

Jefield is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, or that nothing will ever be lost. Consumer rights that the law says can't be excluded stay yours.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or work. Our total liability for any claim about Jefield is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state and federal courts in New York County, New York, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim at home, which these terms don't take away. Please write to us first; most things are solved by talking.

13. Changes and the rest

When these terms change, the version and date at the top change, and important changes are posted on the blog before they apply. If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a part isn't giving it up. These terms, the privacy page, the acceptable use policy and the code of conduct are the whole agreement about Jefield. Version 1 (October 23, 2026) listed the rules for use here and pointed at planned plans; version 2 (November 3, 2026) moves the rules to the acceptable use policy and says no plan is for sale.
